Warranty Policy
Effective Date: January 2018
At RRC, we take pride in the durability and precision of our tiny homes. We stand behind our work with a comprehensive warranty program designed to protect your investment for decades to come.
1. 20-Year Structural Warranty
We provide a 20-Year Limited Structural Warranty from the date of delivery. This covers the “bones” of your home, ensuring it remains safe and sound.
- What is Covered: The structural integrity of the steel or wood framing, sub-flooring, roof trusses, and the structural connection to the chassis/foundation.
- What is Not Covered: Damage caused by extreme weather events (beyond design specs), improper site leveling, overloading the loft spaces, or unauthorized structural modifications made after delivery.
2. 1-Year Workmanship & Systems Warranty
For the first 12 months of ownership, we cover the “fit and finish” of your home.
- Interior/Exterior Finish: Coverage for siding, trim, flooring, and cabinetry defects.
- Plumbing & Electrical: Coverage for the installation integrity of your pipes, wiring, and fixtures.
- Exclusions: Normal wear and tear, cosmetic dings occurring after move-in, and damage caused by lack of basic maintenance (e.g., failing to clean gutters or check seals).
3. Third-Party Manufacturer Warranties
Your tiny home is equipped with high-quality components and appliances. These items are covered by their original manufacturer’s warranties, which typically range from 1 to 10 years.
- Appliances: Stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwaves.
- HVAC: Mini-split systems and heaters.
- Utility Systems: Tankless water heaters and solar inverters.
- Exterior Components: Roofing shingles and window units.
Note: We will provide you with a digital “Warranty Packet” containing all manuals and registration links for these third-party items upon delivery.
4. How to File a Warranty Claim
To ensure your request is handled efficiently, please follow our formal Three-Step Claim Process:
Step 1: Document the Issue
Take clear, high-resolution photos or a brief video of the defect. Note the date the issue was first observed and any circumstances (e.g., after a heavy rain) that may have contributed to it.
Step 2: Submit a Formal Request
Email our Warranty Department at sales@rrctinyhomessale.com with the following information:
- Your Name and Project ID Number.
- A detailed description of the issue.
- The supporting photos/videos.
Step 3: Assessment & Resolution
- Initial Review: Our team will review your claim within 3–5 business days.
- On-Site or Remote Repair: Depending on the nature of the claim, we will either:
- Dispatch a certified technician to your location.
- Authorize a local licensed contractor to perform the repair at our expense.
- Provide guidance on how to contact the third-party manufacturer (for appliance-related issues).
5. Important Limitations
- Transferability: This warranty is valid for the original purchaser only. (Optional: If you sell your home, the structural warranty may be transferred to the new owner for a processing fee of $3000.)
- Site Maintenance: The owner is responsible for ensuring the home remains level. A home that is unlevel can cause doors to stick and walls to crack; damage resulting from an unlevel site is not covered under warranty.
